Jim Cody

Jim Cody is in his second year coaching with the Nassau County Lions, currently serving as assistant coach with the 2025-26 8U Nassau County Red Lions team.

Prior to joining the Lions, Jim coached with Hockey Is Hockey, helping to create, direct, and instruct inline and ice hockey clinics, team practices, training sessions and private lessons for hockey players and teams of all skill levels, ages 5 through adult.

From 2015-2017, Jim served as Associate Head Coach with the Long Island Gulls. Prior to his time with the Gulls, Jim was Associate Head Coach for the Hofstra University Roller Hockey Division I Team from 2013-2016. With Hofstra, Jim was a National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA) Division I National Championships Final Four Finalist (a number three national ranking) in 2014; and ECRHA Division I Regional Champions in 2014.

From 2004-2008 as an Instructor with Ice Hockey in Harlem, Jim provided both on-ice and off-ice support for a youth development program that promotes education and athletics in underserved communities.

He played at the collegiate level for State University of New York at New Paltz from 2000-2002.
