Michael Padgett

Coach Michael Padgett is a former Nassau County Lions goaltender who has continued his passion for the game through coaching and player development within the Lions organization.

Michael began his coaching career in Great Neck by assisting with the Junior Rangers Learn to Play program and later worked with the Nassau County Lions Mite Cross Ice Program from 2022-2024, helping young players build their foundational skills and love for the sport of ice hockey.

During the 2024-2025 season, Michael served as Assistant Coach for the Nassau County Lions 8U Mite Travel Team. He then moved on to become Assistant Coach of the Nassau County Lions Squirt 9U AA team during the 2025-2026 season, helping guide the team to both the EJEPL Silver 1 Championship and the HVHL 10U A Championship.

Michael currently serves as Assistant Coach of the Nassau County Lions Squirt 10U AA team. In addition to team coaching, he has also assisted Nassau County Lions Goalie Coach and former NHL goaltender Keith Kinkaid with goalie development.

Michael is a USA Hockey-certified Level 2 coach. His philosophy is to always bring a willingness to listen and learn each day.

“Practice and play with speed and intensity, while having a true love for the game and for your teammates,” says Michael. The culture around the team is equally as important off ice as it is on the ice.
