Mike Camarinos
Mike Camarinos is thrilled to be returning to the Nassau County Lions, this time behind the bench as an assistant coach. A former Lion himself, Mike played his youth hockey with the Lions organization and served as assistant captain of the 1997 Bantam New York State Championship team. During both his sophomore and junior years, he was invited to attend the USA Hockey New York State Select Camps in upstate New York.
Following his youth career, Mike played two seasons of junior hockey with the Suffolk PAL Juniors, serving as assistant captain and helping lead the team to back-to-back appearances in the National Championships.
He went on to play four years of NCAA Division III hockey at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, where he was a standout defenseman. Mike finished as the team’s highest scoring defenseman in two seasons and earned Rookie Player of the Week honors twice during his collegiate career.
Now returning to the Lions in a new role, Mike is especially excited for this full circle opportunity to help develop young players, share his love of the game, and give back to the program that played such an important role in his own hockey journey.
