Chris Cosentino

Chris Cosentino joins the Nassau County Lions for his first season on the coaching staff. Coach Cosentino will be the Head Coach of the 13U AA.

A native of New York City, Chris played four seasons of junior hockey with the New York Apple Core in the Eastern Junior Hockey League before continuing his career at both the NCAA Division I level (Iona College) and the Division III level (SUNY Geneseo). Following his playing days, Chris built nearly two decades of coaching experience across the NHL, minor leagues, collegiate, junior, and youth levels.

He spent six seasons behind the bench with the New York Apple Core Jr. A and Jr. B teams, where he helped develop and advance more than 100 players to professional and top collegiate levels.

After his tenure with Apple Core, Chris served as Head Coach at New York University for ten seasons, guiding the program to two ACHA National Championships in 2015 and 2017. In 2013, he was invited by legendary NHL coach John Tortorella to coach the New York Rangers at the conclusion of the NHL lockout. He later held leadership coaching roles, including Hockey Director at City Ice Pavilion and Director of Scouting and Assistant Coach with the Fayetteville Marksmen of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

Beyond the rink, Chris has dedicated two decades to the nonprofit sector, helping generate unprecedented funds and awareness for several organizations across the country.
