Nassau County Lions Seeking Coaching Candidates for the 2026-2027 Season

Nassau County Lions Hockey is seeking experienced and passionate Travel Hockey Coaches for players 8U through 18U for the 2026–2027 seasons. This is a great opportunity for motivated coaches to make a meaningful impact on player development in a competitive and supportive environment.

Coaching Levels
• 8U (Mite)
• 10U (Squirt)
• 12U (Peewee)
• 14U (Bantam)
• 16U & 18U (Midget)

Ideal Candidates
• Passionate about youth hockey and long-term player development
• Prior coaching experience preferred (playing experience considered)
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Positive role models who emphasize sportsmanship and teamwork
• Organized, dependable, and committed for the full season

Responsibilities
• Plan and conduct on-ice practices
• Coach games and tournaments
• Foster skill development and team culture
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and program staff
• Adhere to USA Hockey, league, and organization standards

Requirements
• USA Hockey Coaching Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• USA Hockey SafeSport Certification
• USA Hockey background screening
• Ability to commit to the full season
